    The ninth ICC Men's T20 World Cup has a record number of 20 teams participating. The USA, Canada and Uganda are making their T20 World Cup debut.

    The group matches will be held in the USA and across six Caribbean nations. All the Super 8 games, and the semi finals and final will be held in the Caribbean.

    The teams are initially divided into four groups, with each side playing the other sides in their group once. The top two sides from each group go through to the Super 8s stage.

    These eight teams are split into two groups in the Super 8s phase, and play each of their group members once. The top two teams in each of the two Super 8s groups go through to the semi-finals. The winning semi-finalists will contest the final in Barbados on June 29.

    England are the holders of the T20 World Cup, having defeated Pakistan in Melbourne by five wickets in November 2022. England and the West Indies are the only teams to have won the T20 World Cup twice.

    The T20 World Cup 2024 will kick off on 2 June (Sunday) with a match between the USA and Canada at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas, Texas.     The first match – USA vs Canada – will start at 6 AM IST in India but will be at 7.30 PM local time in the USA on 1 June.

    As cricket and ICC get ready to make the big foray into the USA, here’s everything you need to know about the opening ceremonies for the T20 World Cup 2024.

    Will the T20 World Cup 2024 have an opening ceremony?

    Both the USA and West Indies’ first match will start with an opening ceremony. The USA Today has reported that the United States against Canada match will have an opening ceremony starting 10 minutes before the first ball of the match is bowled. The details and performers of the opening ceremony have not been shared so far.

    A separate opening ceremony will take place at Guyana before the West Indies vs PNG match, as per reports.

    What time will the opening ceremonies for T20 World Cup 2024 start?

    As per USA Today, the opening ceremony for the USA vs Canada match will start at 5.50 AM IST on 2 June in India (7.20 PM local time on 1 June).

    As per NDTV, the opening ceremony for the West Indies vs PNG match will start at 6 PM IST (8:30 AM local time). The match will start at 8 PM IST (10:30 AM local time).

    Who will perform during the T20 World Cup 2024 opening ceremony?

    While there is no news on performers for the opening ceremony in the USA, it has been reported that DJs and singers like David Rudder, Ravi B, Erphaan Alves, DJ Ana, and Ultra will perform at Guyana before the West Indies vs Guyana match.
